Jacqueline Griffiths, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist, AAO Fellow, and the Medical Director and Founder of an established Northern Virginia ophthalmology practice with more than three decades of clinical experience. Early in her career, she participated on the investigator side of the CRS-USA LASIK trials that supported FDA approval and helped bring laser vision correction into mainstream practice.
Education and Training
Dr. Griffiths completed undergraduate studies at Yale University and earned her medical degree at the University of Michigan. Postgraduate training followed with an internship at the Medical Center of Delaware and an ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, with active clinical practice dating to 1994. Board certification through the American Board of Ophthalmology and Fellow standing with the American Academy of Ophthalmology underpin a practice built on thorough preoperative planning.
My mission has always been to give every patient personalized attention and the clearest vision possible. Helping people see better changes how they experience the world, and that is a privilege I do not take lightly.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology honored Dr. Griffiths in 2017 with its Secretariat Award, a national distinction nominated jointly by the Secretaries for Curriculum Development, Lifelong Learning and Assessment, Online Education, the Editor of the ONE Network, and the Senior Secretary for Clinical Education. Editorial recognition has continued regionally, including selection as a 2025 Washingtonian Top Doctor and recognition as a Top Ophthalmologist by both Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazine. She remains active in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Washington National Eye Center.
Beyond the Practice
Dr. Griffiths is an internationally invited speaker who has lectured on advanced surface ablation and refractive surgery at meetings around the world. She remains active in the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
